It was 1pm as I arrived at the Sepang F1 circuit. Just in time to catch the action. The turnout was reasonable, seeing that there weren’t really many big names involved. However the entire event was handled pretty well with the organizers constantly doing their best to stick to the schedule. The rain however caused some delays and also made getting track side to shoot photos a real challenge. Nevertheless, it brought some interesting action as we saw some drivers perform much better in the wet.

There were quite a number of Singaporeans (I assume the drivers match the registration plates) participating too. The variety of cars involved was pretty interesting. Most common models were the Honda Civics, VW Golfs, Mitsubishi Evo’s and Subaru Impreza’s. Other more uncommon ones were an APR tuned Audi TT, a Ferrari F430, a Mazda MX5 and a Proton Putra to name a few. Also present was an Ol Skool Corolla ke70 turbo, which was really fast! It was surprising that there weren’t many proton’s participating. It would have been fun to watch the local makes go up against the imports.

Overall, the event went on without a hitch. Hopefully, for the next one, there will be a bigger turnout with more variety of makes. I’m really looking forward to it!
