This customer had his Myvi for some time now. Recently he felt like making some upgrades. First he replaced his wheels, then the next thing he decided on is a nice sound system. Due to time limitations, we managed to get the head unit and active subwoofers installed this time. We hoped to also get the speakers replaced but due time limitations we had to reschedule speakers to a later date.
The head unit of choice is the Kenwood DMX723WS, 200MM wide Toyota fitment. This model will fit a number of Toyota, Perodua, Subaru, Nissan and other models using this 200MM wide size. For customers who do not want larger screen unit and want to stick to factory looks, the DMX723WS is a perfect choice. Furthermore it is quite an affordable model as far as branded wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto units are concerned.
To get the low end bumping a little better, we also installed the Blaupunkt GTR 8110 A active subwoofer. Thankfully this fits perfectly in the space under the passenger seat. Do take note for this model you will need to get all the wirings, fuses, terminals and such separately as it is not included in the unit.
After the install, even the customer niced that the speakers already sound better, thanks to the new head unit. However, he does plan to get it upgraded in the future as his car is missing tweeters at the top, so the staging could definitely be better.
