Owners of the Lexus ES250 will be happy to see this install. This is a Pen-Hui Android head unit that the customer bought and brought to our shop. Lexus usually have pretty complex systems integrated with the cars functions so upgrading the head unit will usually require a little bit of research.
Luckily for us, the owner of this car did all the homework and decided on the Penhui Android for his car. This unit is specifically made for the Lexus ES250 so you shouldn’t need to deal with much issues when installing.
For us, the biggest challenge was mounting the 4 cameras and also learning the software as this is not a brand we usually install. Thankfully the ES250 turned out to be installer friendly and the Penhui unit not too difficult to figure out.
For those looking to do this upgrade do take note that your factory radio remains intact. Only your display is replaced with the Android. The Android feeds audio in to the cars system via the Auxiliary input. So to listen to the Teyes unit you will need to ensure that the cars system is set to Aux.
Overall, we are pretty satisfied with the install and would gladly recommend it as it adds more functionality in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore you are able to retain your factory integration which is a huge plus.
