It’s been awhile since we last worked on a Toyota Prius. This time around the customer brought the Kenwood DMX9720XS for us to install.
This is a very nice head unit with beautiful display, amazing sound and most importantly, a big volume knob which I personally always prefer on head units.
Installation on the Prius is pretty basic, you just need the Toyota harness adapter and also the steering wheel control adapter. Everything is analog, no need for can bus interface for this model.
With the new touchscreen, it only makes sense we also install a rear camera for reversing. The image looks decent even on this large screen. We would recommend Blaupunkt reverse cameras if you are in the market for a reverse camera.
Overall very nice install, simple and easy.
