Just last week as we were getting done with moving to a new location, this customer showed up wanting to get the head unit in his Ford Ranger T6 replaced along with adding a reverse camera. We had a discussion to better understand his needs and most importantly to know his budget.
This customer wanted something basic, functional and did not want to spend too much. We ended up deciding on the Teyes CC3L 2+32. We don’t usually recommend this spec as we feel the minimum of 4+32 will give a better experience. However, if the customer is a light user and has a limited budget, the 2+32 may be just enough.
As for the rear camera, we went with the Blaupunkt RC TY 1.0 as it allows for vertical image flip. We wished it had better resolution given the resolution of the display, nevertheless it does the job and you can’t really complain given the price when compared to AHD cameras.
Installation on the Ford Ranger T6 is not difficult and the whole install went on pretty smoothly. Definitely recommended for those looking to add modern functionality to your car.
