Our customer dropped by with his relative to get her car head unit upgraded. Most important criteria was ease of use and on-screen navigation.
In this instance, we opted for the wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto head unit as the user isn’t a very tech person, so it is best to keep it simple. Plug in to launch and unplug to disconnect. No messing about with wireless connections.
We also installed the Blaupunkt RC 3.0 reverse camera along with the head unit to aid in parking. Installation of these items into the Vios is not difficult at all as the Vios keeps the Toyota standards and also doesn’t have complex stereo wiring.
We would definitely recommend this setup for those looking for an affordable Apple CarPlay and Android Auto unit that is stable and easy to use. Just make sure to use good cables as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be fussy about it.
