The owner of this Perodua Myvi needed a better head unit for his day to day use. Navigation, hands-free calling and music is pretty much what he wants. Of course reliability and stability is also an important factor to him.
There are so many “cheap” androids in the market that can seriously overwhelm buyers. Our advise is go for a known brand that provides a long enough warranty, at least a year. Reason being if its a known brand, it would be easy to get in touch with them should you have any after sales needs.

Android unit of choice, Blaupunkt Cape Town 1000 DSP. The Cape Town is a wonderful entry level unit that has all you need for day-2-day use that is in the more affordable price bracket. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360 Camera upgrade and has a decent DSP for fine tuning your audio. If you are on a tight budget, there are more affordable entry level models like Hamburg and Kansas City. However, we seriously recommend you save up for the Cape Town as it has more features that you may want to use.
As for the speakers, we would usually recommend 4″ coaxials for the 1st generation myvi as it is easier to install. Component speakers are fine too but you may be challenged with tweeter placement. The difference between coaxials and components in the car isn’t huge as the speakers are on the dashboard.
For the 1st Gen Myvi owners, we highly recommend a setup like this and maybe throw in a subwoofer to round it out as we feel low end bass is where this current system fall short.
